AHS says 911 call about fatal dog attack was initially classified as ‘non-life-threatening’

Alberta Health and fitness Expert services says it has completed an investigation into why it took 30 minutes for an ambulance to respond immediately after puppies fatally attacked an 86-calendar year-old lady in Calgary’s Capitol Hill neighbourhood on Sunday. 

Police and paramedics who have been called to the scene in the city’s northwest located the injured girl who was taken to hospital and later died.

Alberta Wellness Services, which operates unexpected emergency healthcare companies, said in a assertion that the preliminary 911 connect with was despatched to law enforcement dependent on the data offered from the scene.

Spokesperson James Wood said the connect with was at first triaged as non-life-threatening, but police notified EMS when they arrived on scene that the patient’s injuries were being critical.
